Need help finding the venue? We've got you covered!
For the last few years we’ve used The King’s Centre as our venue, first for jQuery UK and now for Render. Located on the banks of the Thames, a 15 minute walk from the station and city centre, it’s Oxford’s largest city centre conference venue, serves good food and is 100% accessible.
The King’s Centre
The Oxford Tube coach service runs to and from London every 15 minutes during the day (2 hours), complete with free Wi-Fi and power points. All the major bus companies, including National Express, Megabus and Stagecoach, operate from Oxford Bus Station which is a 15 minute walk from the venue.
The King’s Centre provides undercover and secure bicycle racks. If you cycle round Oxford or would like to bring your bike on the train, The King’s Centre is next to the Thames towpath, which is suitable for bicycles. Transport Paradise has a detailed map of Oxford’s dual cycle network.
There is no parking space available at the venue and parking in the city centre is expensive. Oxford’s Park & Ride is the easiest way to get into Oxford city centre by car.
With five car parks located around Oxford’s ring road, and fast and frequent bus services until late evening, it is the best way to travel into the city centre. The nearest is the Seacourt, just off the A34 Botley Interchange. Get off at the Osney Island bus stop on Botley Road; The King’s Centre is just a 5-10 minute walk along the Thames towpath. Our friendly staff will be on hand to guide people!
The King’s Centre is a 15 minute walk from Oxford rail station. Direct trains from London take approximately one hour and leave Paddington every 30 minutes.
Oxford is also well served from main travel hubs around the country including Birmingham New Street (1h 10m), Manchester Piccadilly (2h 50m), Bristol (1h), Southampton (1h), Cambridge (2h 35m), Glasgow (5h 14m) and Cardiff (1h 49m).
Regular coach services connect Oxford with Heathrow (1 hour), Gatwick (2 hours) and Luton (2 hours) airports. They terminate at Gloucester Green coach station in Oxford City Centre, a 15–20 minute walk from The King’s Centre.
We're holding a limited number of rooms at a range of Oxford hotels, to suit a range of budgets. More information about hotels, including pricing, can be found here. Rates are subject to availability so early booking is advised.
Our wonderful sponsors help make Render possible! If you’d like to get involved in supporting the conference, please request a sponsor pack.
